Since 2018, we’ve aimed to develop the sport of climbing in Jordan.
Our Story
Founded in 2018 by 30 avid climbers, we constitute the national governing body for the sport of climbing in Jordan and operate under the Jordan Olympic Committee. Our existence was only made possible following the Olympics’ recognition of rock climbing as an official Olympic sport in 2016.
As an official non-governmental organisation (NGO), our federation earns income from individual donations and corporations. Ultimately, we aim to promote rock climbing as a sport and create a community of successful athletes from a young age who have the potential to compete on a global level.
Our Mission
We aspire to increase awareness of climbing in Jordan as well as support and train potential talent in order to develop our national team. We aim to organize, host and participate in local, regional and international competitions and affiliate our federation with the IFSC and other international climbing organizations.
We further seek to continually develop and maintain access to outdoor climbing areas across the country and promote ecologically sustainable practices and proper climbing etiquette within the local climbing community.

Jordan Olympic Committee: We fall under the umbrella of this governing body for sports in Jordan
International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC): As a member of the IFSC, we receive multiple benefits, including the ability to participate in and host international competitions, administrative advice, voice in decision-making and more.
Federación Española de Deportes de Montaña y Escalada (FEDME): Official letters were exchanged and visits were made with our sister federation, FEDME, which will thus allow us to compete in their system.
